NOW PLAYING: THE WILLOWS
The favorite family of LA’s Spooky Season extends their invitation into December

For years now JFI Production’s The Willows has been a perennial favorite with LA’s immersive fans. The show invites guests into what feels like a grounded, indie horror riff on the “kooky family” troupe typified by The Addams Family. Only here the vibes are as sinister as they are spooky.
What started as the off-season production from the makers of the art house weirdness that was the wildly popular Creep maze has taken center stage for the Halloween season, with devoted fans making multiple trips each each to have dinner with the family.
A second batch of tickets goes on sale on Sunday October 15th for the November run of shows, priced at $200 for seatings starting November 2nd. All at a private home in one of Los Angeles’ classic neighborhoods.
You can keep up with the latest from JFI on Instagram.
UPDATE: One last batch of shows has been added — Nov. 29, 30, Dec. 1 & 3.

NP: What was the inspiration for the experience?
Stephanie Turek (Head of Production): The Willows was inspired by blending the best of classic dinner theater and murder mystery box games. We wanted people to uncover the mystery in real time while investing and connecting with true characters in a fully-realized world. It’s really special when an audience can step into a piece of theater and discover something new each time.

NP: What do you think fans of immersive will find most interesting about this experience?
Justin Fix (Director): The Willows really transforms into a Haunted House during the Fall season. Each year we continue to invest, rework and add to this beautiful production. We are approaching 700 performances of The Willows and it keeps getting better. It’s the ultimate Ghost Story and we are always grateful to be performing at this landmark of a location! Just stepping into the home is a transport in time.
NP: Once you started designing and testing what did you discover about this experience that was unexpected?
This story has deep healing power. We’ve experienced and witnessed some huge breakthroughs. Its a topic of death, loss, grief. It’s a hot topic, one that you are challenged with throughout the night. — J.T Swierczek (Producer)

NP: What can fans who are coming to this, or thinking about coming to this, do to get into the mood of the experience?
JFI Creative Team: The Willows is a marriage between the gothic supernatural family drama of The Haunting Of Hill House and the dread-soaked sinister suspense of sly modern mysteries like The Menu and Karyn Kusama’s The Invitation. Riveting, sharp, intense, devilish, haunted fun. Join us in the dark!
