NOW FUNDING: voidspace live 2025
The London festival looks to expand in the new year

The 2024 voidspace live festival was one of the highlights of the London immersive season this year, with debuts of new work from Virtually Opera and Emily Carding amongst others.
As our own Thomas Jancis & Roderick Morgan said of this year’s fest:
Our hope is that this festival will expand and spark more independently-supported festivals and opportunities for immersive artists to experiment freely with the form within London and the wider area. In the wake of losing VAULT this festival proves there is still very much an engaged London audience baying for innovation and showing a strong willingness to take a risk when it comes to their entertainment; now it’s up to the landscape to decide whether or not to support the emerging creators.
Now the organizers are looking to expand the event from a one-day affair into a full weekend for 2025, and have turned to crowdfunding to make that dream a reality.
We connected with Katy Naylor, producer of voidspace live, to find out more about the plan and campaign.
This is No Proscenium’s NOW FUNDING, a look at immersive experiences & events currently crowdfunding. To learn more about how your event could be considered for the feature check out How To Get Covered By NoPro.
No Proscenium: Tell us a little bit about this planned experience. What’s it about? What makes it immersive?
Katy Naylor: This is voidspace live! It’s going to be the UK’s biggest festival of interactive arts, with interactive theatre, games, poetry, dance, opera, installations, workshops and panels, and more across a weekend. It’s about bringing together interactive artists across all forms and letting them and audiences see the wonderful worlds on offer while making new connections.
NP: What is the inspiration for your upcoming experience?
KN: The voidspace was founded to as a space for interactive art — whether interactive fiction, poetry, TTRPGs, theatre, or whatever people brought us — to be together in one place, initially with VoidspaceZine. A live festival seemed like a logical next step into the real world.

Earlier this year, our pilot festival saw people from all over the interactive world — theatre, opera, TTRPGs, video games, poets, novellists, dancers — in one place, and it was incredible seeing the new connections formed, and the joy of audiences discovering what’s on offer. You guys were kind enough to call it a successor to Vault festival.

NP: What do you think fans of immersive will find most interesting about this upcoming experience?
KN: It’s the only place I’m aware of with this range of interactive work. It’s not just theatre, or just interactive fiction, or just anything — if it’s asking the audience to come and co-create the work, it has a place here. We’ve confirmed artists like Jury Games, Deadweight Theatre, Seth Kriebel, Emily Carding and Marina Abramovic Institute artists Iannis Pappas and Aleksandar Timotic already, with more in-person online and to be announced soon.
So if you want to come and see some of the best global interactive talent, rising stars, and try out interactive art in a style you’ve never seen before, this is the best place to do that.
NP: Have you crowdfunded before? If so, is there anything different about your experience (or expectations) this time?
KN: Yes! This year’s festival wouldn’t have been possible without backers’ generous support, allowing us to prove to potential partners that we really can pull off something bigger and better.
This time around, we’re improving accessibility, fees for artists, and running across two whole days!

NP: What are some of the perks on offer for backers?
KN: Join in to get early bird tickets, snag bonus perks like priority registration and merch or just to get the warm glow of knowing you’ve made something very special a reality. Nearly 100 interactive artists, all coming together in one fantastic festival, plus subsidised tickets for those facing economic hardship — it all becomes possible with your help.
