COMING SOON: The Body of Ciara Molloy: a Fallen Saints Tale
1860’s Ireland is the setting for the annual Fallen Saints show as part of NoHo’s Spooky Season

Force of Nature Productions’ Fallen Saints series has been a Spooky Season fixture in North Hollywood’s theatre district since before the pandemic.
This year’s offering, written by Cassandra Moselle and directed by Sebastian Muñoz,, is a bit of a two in one in the form of The Body of Ciara Molloy and The Shady Yew Experience, which offers up a theatrical haunt followed by an interactive pub experience in the setting of the play after the last performance of the play each night.
We checked in with Sebastian Muñoz, Producing Artistic Director of Force of Nature Productions’ about the new show which starts on September 6th and runs weekends through the 21st.

No Proscenium: Tell us a little bit about your experience! What’s it about? What makes it immersive?
Sebastian Muñoz: “Fallen Saints” is our annual theatrical haunt experience. This is our 6th offering and this time we are traveling to 1860’s Ireland during the Samhain celebration. This year there are 2 options: The Body of Ciara Molloy: A Fallen Saints Tale is a 40 min show where you choose your own adventure by following a character(s) inside. You are a spirit haunting quietly the walls of the Shady Yew Pub while the story unfolds before you. The Shady Yew Pub Experience is a 75 min immersive and interactive activation where you get to mingle with spirits, supernaturals, and humans while you celebrate the Samhain. You can experience live music, libations, stew, have your fortune told, play a game of chance with a púca, or come face to face with the Darkness. Ask around and you may discover a secret room for a special experience. Our most ambitious offering like this to date.
NP: What was the inspiration for your upcoming experience?
SM:We are a theater company so the idea to visit other country’s cultures and celebrations was very appealing to us. Without giving too much away, the subject of the Samhain in Ireland during the 1860’s was appealing since we could explore many of supernatural and spiritual folklore of the time. It just felt like the right fit for this year.
NP: What do you think fans of immersive will find most interesting about this latest experience?
SM: The fact that we have 2 options for people to choose from will be appealing. Some people have different levels of comfort when it comes to immersive experiences. One being a silent participant, the other being as interactive as you’d like to be. There are not wrong answers.
NP: Once you started designing and testing what did you discover about this experience that was unexpected?
SM: Working out the timing of the story as it unfolds in 2 different rooms is definitely a challenge. Since everything is developing in real time, the talent needs to be pretty on point with their storytelling to synch up with what is happening in the other room and viceversa.
NP: What can fans who are coming to this, or thinking about coming to this, do to get into the mood of the experience?
SM: Read up on Irish culture or folklore from the 1860’s. People are also encouraged to dress of the time, if they would like to. There are a lot of historical elements that were carefully curated into this experience from the era that our writer took the time to study up on. Of course, we do weave in our own Fallen Saints universe into the mix, so be ready.
