Pick of the Week: Where the F is Beverley?
Where the F is Beverley? is an awesome immersive experience for a night out with friends. You’ll solve riddles, follow clues, and even drink a margarita or two while finding your way around historic DUMBO to find out what in the world happened to our dear friend Beverly. Extra points if you go on a dark and stormy night like Blake and I did! — Allie Marotta, NoPro NYC contributor

Pick of the Week: Dark Passage
The stakes are high; the great risk to your life is stated numerous times. The tone manages to walk the delicate line between melodrama and Halloween fun. A spooky bar offering up silly named house cocktails (“The Soul Stealer”, “The Shattered Memory”) serves as your gateway to the afterlife. It’s also prime selfie real estate. All in all, Dark Passage manages its dual nature as a theatrical piece and seasonal haunt without feeling fragmented or torn in opposing directions. The appeal to fans of either is obvious. — Blake Weil, from his review
Pittsburgh
Pick of the Week: Project Amelia
Kudos to Bricolage et al for bringing us such an engaging thought piece about a set of issues which impact everyone and yet not nearly enough people are thinking about. — Glenn Ricci, from his review
Chicago
Pick of the Week: The Silence in Harrow House
With the feeling of wandering a maze without an exit, I was trapped with puppet creatures of Harrow House witnessing the fate that befell them. Every turn of the corner brought suspense and surprise where I loved every minute of exploration. A perfect marriage of performance and environment. — Patrick McLean, NoPro Chicago (read his review)
Most Anticipated: Stay on the Line
The Martin’s signature immersive experience returns again and I’m thrilled for the treat of seeing it on Halloween night. Stay on the Line is experienced only by one person at a time every 30 minutes so I’m excited to see how my agency influences the experience’s unique nature and story. — Patrick McLean, NoPro Chicago
San Francisco
Pick of the Week: Museum of the Hidden City
Eschewing the more traditional elements of an audio guide, the experience focuses on the relationship of the cathedral within the city and its place within its history. Through the eyes of the protagonist, the church, its sculptures, and its architecture take on a life of their own, and I felt sudden regret and embarrassment that I’d never given much thought to this structure that stands steps away from me and features so prominently in the skyline of the city I call home. — Brian Resler, from his review
Las Vegas
Most Anticipated: Horrorwood Video
After watching Majestic Rep’s takeover of our Instagram as part of our 13 Days of Halloween I wish I could hop in the Honda and hit up Vegas to see Horrorwood — a cursed video store where lost VHS “classics” come to life. -Noah Nelson, Publisher, NoPro
Los Angeles
Pick of the Week: Give Up the Ghost
You’ve got one more chance to check out this LARP-based show which lets you play the part of a Class V free roaming vapor. Help your fellow recently deceased pass on, or freak some college kids and ghost hunters out with your antics. This spooky sandbox has some on boarding issues, but once it got going it was the most fun I had all season… and it’s almost gone! -Noah Nelson, publisher (read our review)
Most Anticipated: Afterlife Anonymous
A show with an interesting concept and conceit (You’re a ghost and you’re addicted to haunting!), and a comedic bend is something that’s right up my alley. This type of show is something that is treat in the usual scare fest of spooky, and is something that would play well the rest of the year. — Anthony Robinson, No Pro

Pick of the Week: Avengers: Damage Control
I didn’t think I could love anything more than The Void’s Star Wars offering, but along comes Marvel to prove me wrong. The technology has vastly improved since the last go-round, and the tracking is bananas. I don’t think I have ever laughed, got scared, or yelled out of pure joy than I have in this new VR experience at The Void. Highly recommend! — Jeff Heimbuch, Horrorbuzz
