Staff Most Anticipated: Shadow of the Run — Railroaded
Is it cheating to declare that I’m anticipating a show in a city thousands of miles away that there is no way I can see? Doesn’t matter. I make the rules around here and if portals were a thing — and I don’t see why our scientists aren’t working on THAT — then I’d be popping on over to check out the second part of the unfolding Shadow of the Run story, which traces the story of the infamous “Torso” murders, which stumped the “untouchable” Elliot Ness. The show has a limited run this week, someone go and tell me how it is so I can live vicariously through YOU for a change. — Noah Nelson, publisher

It wasn’t until I had a friend visiting I finally made it to one of DLTA’s gems: The Last Bookstore, a labyrinth of whimsical art, sculptures, and more. No wonder every tourist wants a selfie here. Every nook and cranny is filled with something strange or charming; it also doesn’t hurt that the book selection is fantastic. I could get lost in its idiosyncratic shelves for hours. — Kathryn Yu, Executive Editor, NoPro
Staff Most Anticipated: The Fortune Teller at Level Games
We’re suckers for escape rooms with live actors here at NoPro. So much so that maybe that’s what we’ll put on our t-shirts. (No, we’re not getting t-shirts, y’all.) I’ve heard nothing but good things about Level’s inventive offerings — like the escape game that puts you into the role of the family dog thanks to the scale of the set. That really scratches my “Batman faces a death-trap at the oversized prop factory” itch. — Noah Nelson, publisher

Staff Pick of the Week: The Under Presents: King Crob Update
Just before the holiday break, Tender Claws released a content update for The Under Presents including several new areas to explore on the map and brand new player masks (I’m sporting the onion mask, myself). There are also brand new characters to be found in this ever-folding, mysterious, surreal VR experience, and by the time you read this blurb, there are likely to be brand new live performers in the Under as well. Try enlarging some onions and steak and throwing them down the crob pit to see if King Crob comes out! But beware, he really does not like tomatoes. — Kathryn Yu, Executive Editor, NoPro
