Each month, No Proscenium staff will pick a book, alternating between non-fiction covering the theory and practice behind creating immersive art, and fiction that has either influenced or celebrates immersive theatre.

For our kickoff, we’re reading Neal Stephenson’s Snow Crash, a dystopic cyberpunk thriller, which popularized the concept of a metaverse as a publicly accessible alternate, virtual world. What do our original collective beliefs about the metaverse mean for its future?

Discussion will be held on the third Tuesday of every month, led by members of the NoPro Senior Staff. Please join us on March 15, 2022, to talk Snow Crash at 8 PM EST/5 PM PST.

Stay tuned for upcoming book picks, and send us your pitches via social for “must reads” for upcoming months!
