All Of Them Witches (AOTW) got its start as an “supergroup” production team for The Overlook Film Festival’s legendary game and enjoyed the process so much that they banded together again to create the alternate reality experience ARCANA.

Now, three years later, the collective is at it again with a party — yes, you read that right — a party.

Knowing who is under the hood on the production, a grip of LA immersive veterans whose work includes In Another Room, AMOS, and Stashhouse, this is bound to be unlike any other party being thrown this year.

The Shape of the Night is an immersive party where artists and performers will explore the perplexing illogic of our dream world — where one moment shifts to another with seemingly no rhyme or reason, kind of like the illogic of the post-pandemic world we live in.

The Shape of the Night kicks off on November 30th and runs through December 3rd, with tickets running at $62 (with a complimentary drink) at an undisclosed location in Los Angeles.

We touched base with producer Mali Elfman about the experience.

No Proscenium: Tell us a little bit about your experience! What’s it about? What makes it immersive?

Mali Elfman: The Shape of the Night is an immersive party with a deep-dive into the world of dreams and nightmares. Once inside, you’ll be interacting with other dreamers, both lucid and unaware. It’s an immersive show. It’s an art party. It’s a bar. It’s a nightmare. It’s a dream.

NP: What was the inspiration for your upcoming experience?

ME: We’ve been developing this idea for years, ever since our previous show, ARCANA, lit up instagram in the spring of 2020. E3W, one wing of our team, pointed out that humans dream for six years of their natural lives. We started digging into the science of dreams which turned out to be a rich and fascinating subject. This was the perfect subject for us to dig into from multiple angles.

NP: What do you think fans of immersive will find most interesting about this latest experience?

ME: It’s a true choose-your-own adventure of a show, with multiple characters, shows, and paths to choose throughout the evening. And there’s no VIP ticket. Everyone can enjoy this experience on their own level, from newbies that want to hang out in the bar and watch live performances to hardcore immersive fans who are determined to crack the deeper mysteries and the stories of these character. We built our previous experiences, the Overlook Game and ARCANA, to be enjoyed on multiple levels, and we’ve brought everything we learned from those projects into THE SHAPE OF THE NIGHT.

NP: Once you started designing and testing what did you discover about this experience that was unexpected?

ME: Creating 3 hours of all-new material with your friends is a blast.

NP: What can fans who are coming to this, or thinking about coming to this, do to get into the mood of the experience?

ME: Follow us on Instagram at @theshapeofthenight.
