From January 30th through February 19th, Silencio will produce the Midwest premiere of Home Invasion by Christopher Chen (Caught, Passage, The Late Wedding), a sci-fi noir staged intimately in several real Chicago apartments.
Jane’s sister has been murdered and a detective has been sent to investigate — meanwhile, something watches from the shadows. Christopher Chen deconstructs film-noir tropes and the DIY-house-play to create a mind-bending exploration of how well you can truly know the people you love.
Home Invasion will be happening over the course of three weeks, with each week of performances taking place in a different Chicago apartment. Week one (January 30th — February 1st) is in Ravenswood, week two (February 7th — 9th) is in Lincoln Square, and week 3 (February 17th — 19th) is in Andersonville.

Content Advisories: “If someone has any questions or concerns about trigger warnings or the content of the show, they can email us at silenciochicago@gmail.com, and we’ll gladly answer any questions in as much detail as possible.
“The third weekend (February 17th — 19) is wheelchair accessible. That weekend’s apartment is on the first floor and there will be a ramp that leads into the apartment. If an audience member needs the ramp, they should reach out to us in advance at silenciochicago@gmail.com so we can be prepared to assist them when they arrive. Weekends 1 and 3 are on upper floors and are not wheelchair accessible.”
