The VP, Executive Creative Director — Exhibition Development is the visionary leader steering the core creative team of creative directors, art directors, and experience designers in the creative development and articulation of future exhibitions, exhibition updates, digital integrations, and other special projects. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer and working closely with the Chief Creative Strategy Officer and Chief Vision Officer, and other key executive leaders to shape and design against the creative vision expanding the Meow Wolf Universe.
This role is responsible for the development and success of the people, processes, and output of the creative department. You will guide our teams into a new era of creative practice that expands the opportunities for creative contributions while sharpening our integration of brand, art, story, and interactivity in the development and advancement of our physical spaces. You will be a champion for our creatives, while honing the output of our creative development process to align with creative strategy, overarching vision, and business needs.
The VP, Executive Creative Director — Exhibition Development will have an active role in all ongoing and future exhibition projects at an executive level, guiding and ensuring creative alignment to a creative strategy in service of the Meow Wolf vision, overseeing and having accountability for the project progress and success, and communicating project progress to company leadership.

Control Group Productions (CGP) is an artist-led non-profit organization and a leading regional voice in immersive and site-specific performance. We take an expeditionary art-making approach, focused on projects that combine research, social engagement, and a transdisciplinary creative process into richly innovative, live experiences.
Our programming includes in-house projects and a robust Artist Services Program that supports work and activities across the local professional community. Our projects take place at sites across the Denver-Boulder metro area, and often involve social engagement programming with local communities. Tours and travel outside of Colorado are a growing portion of activities.
Our organization currently operates with a $400,000 annual budget, with two full-time personnel (including this position), two part-time staff positions, and 20–40 project artists per year. Our staff, Board of Directors, Community Advisory Council, and partners collaborate on organizational vision, values, and project planning.

THE ROLE
As a core member of our small administrative team, this person will participate in visioning, planning, and implementing organizational programming and practices. They will be the key leader of our resource development efforts and manage additional programming elements selected in dialogue with other staff, prospectively including producing / production management or Artist Services Program direction. They will have opportunities for professional and artistic development, including guiding programming and participating in or leading projects. They will manage their time and workload in collaboration with CGP’s staff and production schedule, with a mandate of sustainability and healthy balance.

The Technical Manager will lead a team of technicians and a Design Maintenance Manager to ensure that the production and ancillary areas the production occupies, such as the bar and theatrical elements of the FOH areas are presented and maintained at the highest possible standards.

The Director, Facilities & Exhibition will keep the maintenance and improvements for the Houston site running safe and smooth all year round. This individual will lead the team in maintaining facilities and technical assets within the entire complex, develop and manage departmental and CAPEX budgets, perform preventative maintenance programs, and work with outside vendors, contractors, and artists. This includes all aspects of the visitor experience, including physical, technical, show lighting, A/V and show control. Monopoly Lifesized is exactly what it sounds like — a life-sized version of the world’s favorite board game.
Monopoly Lifesized is a high-energy interactive experience that uses a range of theatrical effects including loud music and sounds, flashing lights, timed-rounds, group participation. and small or confined spaces. Each 60-minute game of Monopoly Lifesized is played on a 50’x50’ board. Each board can host up to 24 people divided into four teams that play against each other. DCPA Off-Center at Broadway Park will host four boards with individual games starting every 15 minutes. Monopoly Lifesized will run for the general public Tuesday to Sunday from October 22nd, 2024 through April 13th, 2025 with test audiences from October 18–20th, 2024.

Immersive Exhibition Grants for Cultural Institutions and Venues

Recently announced at the 2024 Cannes Festival and managed by Villa Albertine and Albertine Foundation, with the support of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, and in partnership with the Institut Français, this new grant program aims to support the exhibition of French immersive projects at US cultural institutions and venues.
Following a rigorous selection process by an independent committee, grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to between five and seven projects in the fall that will be exhibited at American venues offering the best experiences to the largest possible audiences. At the end of the year, a fair will be organized bringing together XR professionals from both France and the United States.
French creators and producer can also submit their projects to join an online catalogue, which US cultural institutions and venues can peruse, through this call for submissions here. Learn more below.
This grant is the latest addition to Villa Albertine’s French Immersion program, which supports producers and creators of a range of XR projects and immersive experiences through a variety of actions and grants. The French Immersion program additionally offers grants of up to $2,500 to bring French creators to the United States to present their work at significant festivals. The call for applications for this grant will open at a later time.
