Casting “North Pole Journey,” a live immersive event within Winter Fest OC. A theatrical, vibrant celebration of all things North Pole. Performers will bring the experience of being an “elf-in-training” to the audience as they interact with them through short scenes and improvisational crowd engagement.
Travel to the North Pole to complete your Elf Certification Training and become an official “Elf.” Children of all ages are welcome to join the adventure in the fully immersive, family-friendly, and hilariously exciting North Pole Journey at WinterFest 2023. With music, dancing, and photo opportunities, this holiday walk-through is sure to leave everyone with lasting memories. The adventure is brought to life as a number of helpful elves (and their friends) assist guests in everything from solving puzzles, showing off some new dance moves, and even learning the basics of reindeer flight navigation! A fully-designed environment holds more than a few secrets and surprises as characters bring the story to life through both scripted and improvised moments! The magic will stay long after the holidays in this unforgettable North Pole Journey!

We are looking for actors that are very comfortable with improv and preferably with past immersive/interactive theatre experience. Actors should highlight in their submission email if they have any of this type of experience or other special skills that would create a spectacle (e.g. musical instruments, dancing, fire-spinning, sword-swallowing, magic tricks, contortionism, etc.). Actors invited to audition will be given the option of attending virtual or in-person auditions.

BAFTA-winning arts and social change charity Coney is looking at expanding our network of set designers, with a particular interest in meeting creatives from the Global Majority, migrant or working class backgrounds.
We have several new immersive theatre, site-specific projects and games taking place in the next two years. This includes 1884, a new immersive game-theatre piece exploring the lack of memorialisation of anticolonial protest movements; as well as new projects as part of our Playful Heritage and Towns, Boroughs and Neighbourhoods programmes.

BAFTA-winning arts and social change charity Coney is offering 8 bursaries for Global Majority creatives from a wide range of disciplines to take part in a series of workshops, mentoring sessions and networking opportunities exploring how to use interactive and playful practice to engage diverse audiences with complex topics.
We have recently received funding from Arts Council England to support our Playful Heritage programme, exploring how immersive, interactive and playful practice can help engage diverse audiences with complex topics, including stories of race, empire, colonialism and migration.
We are offering small bursaries for 8 Global Majority practitioners to aend a programme of workshops and practice sharing.

Niantic Lightship is building out its sample project library and is looking for help from developers like you to kickstart it. Starting September 5th, 2023, developers can submit applications with their project ideas to apply for grants to fund their project and ultimately have their project featured on Lightship’s sample project library.

AWE is hosting a Start-up Pitch Competition which will see 8 AR/VR start-ups pitch in front of a group of judges made up of industry executives and venture capitalists. The winning start-up takes home an up to $200k with investment* (pending due diligence) provided by acclaimed investor Christopher Obereder. The winning company is also honored on the main stage at AWE EU 2023 with an Auggie Award and the winning title of “Start-up to Watch” during the event’s Best in Show Awards.
*$200K investment in return for equity to be negotiated based on valuation following due diligence.

2023 Peabody Awards: Interactive and Immersive Submissions
Peabody Awards
Entry Fee: $400 (reduced rate of $300 for first-time applicants)
Deadline: October 5, 2023 at 11:59pm Pacific Time
FROM THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
The interactive and immersive cycle of the Peabody Awards honors stories in formats such as games, virtual reality, augmented reality, interactive journalism and documentary, co-creation, and social video, made widely available to the public on consumer-level hardware. Interactive, immersive, and/or participatory experiences must be core to the project and essential to the storytelling.
Eligibility Period: All projects must have been published/released between January 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023. The window of eligibility has been set to overlap with last year’s award cycle due to the newness of the category and in order to provide broader consideration of works. Projects released during the overlap period (January 1, 2022 through May 31, 2022) which have already been submitted for consideration are not eligible.
