DARKFIELD has been making immersive experiences since 2016, starting with our signature location-based experiences in shipping containers. Since 2020 we have also been making digital work: immersive audio experiences for audiences at home via our platform DARKFIELD Radio, a phone app. The app has so far hosted 6 shows, numerous international film festivals, has reached 25000 people worldwide and received the Colombia Award for innovation in storytelling.
We have a strong desire to enter into a new phase of digital work and our vision is to develop DARKFIELD’s digital department further: improve our current app, grow our platform and reach, form a digital strategy, create new innovative work, implement exciting new technological features and more generally explore new digital possibilities.
The Digital Producer role will lead this new phase, scoping out new opportunities, devising a digital strategy for the company as a whole, as well as leading on the management and distribution of the existing app.

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Freelance Senior XR Unity Developer to join our team for a special project in games. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing a new kind of non-violent mysterious immersive gaming experiences using Unity XR, VR, and AR on mobile with cross play to headset and smart glasses. The candidate should have a passion for non-violent games and the technical expertise to deliver high-quality, performant, and scalable solutions.

Alongside partners around the world, DARKFIELD is touring work in the UK, Australia & New Zealand, Taiwan, Canada, South Korea and Mexico and have so far reached over 300,000 audience members worldwide, and counting.
DARKFIELD will be bringing three shows to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023, located outside Pleasance Dome and Summerhall.

In partnership with California Arts Council, Los Angeles Performance Practice is excited to administer the 2023–2024 cycle of the Individual Artist Fellowships program in Los Angeles County.
The Individual Artist Fellowships program recognizes, uplifts, and celebrates the excellence of California artists and culture bearers practicing any art form. This program will support artists at key moments in their careers, elevating their capacity for continued contribution to the field and our state. Fellowship awards support individual artistic practice through unrestricted funding. This program is intended to support a broad spectrum of artists working in all disciplines, from diverse geographies and communities of all sizes across the state of California. The Individual Artist Fellowships program is a statewide initiative, and is funded by the California Arts Council, a state agency.
Emerging Artist Fellows — $5,000
Emerging artists are those in the beginning stages of making their work public and engaging the larger community in their practice. Individuals at this career stage may have had a few public showings of their work, but do not yet have ongoing resources or support.
Established Artist Fellows — $10,000
Artists in the Established tier regularly make their work public and engage the larger community in their practice. Individuals in this tier can give multiple examples of artistic and/or cultural works that have made significant social impact.
Legacy Artist Fellows — $50,000
Artists in the Legacy tier can point to a significant body of work, produced over a substantial period of time, that has engaged their communities and that has made significant social impact. Artists in this tier may be able to point to Emerging and Established Artists that they have mentored or otherwise positively influenced.

The R&D Imagineering Creative Technology Intern will support our multi-disciplinary, exploratory research and development team within Walt Disney Imagineering, working creatively with emerging tech to flush out blue sky concepts.
We design experiences, immersive narratives, gadgets, robotics, tangible interactions, etc. with the delight of our guests at the forefront of every project. At R&D, we have the unique opportunity to prototype quickly and push the boundaries of multi-modal storytelling — physical, visual, haptic, spatial, audio, AI, and gestural. Our department is structured in a manner where we welcome interdisciplinary creatives that don’t necessarily fit into one box, but possess a reliable toolkit to effectively communicate conceptual ideas.
