A tender and intimate approach to immersive storytelling through VR, A City of Foxes is a work that allows the audience to have an interactive encounter with a philosophical fox that questions what companionship means in times of loss.

Set across the fantastical landscape of an unequal war — that thrives on the persecution of the foxes — this is the story of the audience sharing a moment of hope and kindness with a seemingly vilified other. The work occurs as a live experience on VRChat — where the fox is played by a performer who enters into a deeply personal conversation with one to three audience participants.

Winner of the XR Market Award at the NewImages Festival, this work is supported by Venice Biennale: College Cinema, the French Ministry of Culture — CNC, Rotterdam’s Cinemart and the FACE Foundation (US). More about the work can be read in Variety.
