Rumor has it that when Mike Stefanik of Austin, Texas accidentally received twice the number of LEDs from China through a shipping mistake, he did what any sane person would do — built an immersive, interactive art installation in his house using 14,000 LEDs and invited strangers to try it out. After opening the Eureka Room to the public as part of the East Austin Studio Tour in 2018, Mike’s now taking appointments and gathering feedback from immersive fans just like you.
Come with friends or join others. Choose from a menu of 5–40 minute experiences. Enter the room. Follow the automated instructions. What will happen? Programs of “Charming Absurdity” include “Turkey Volcano,” “Hi 5,” and“House of Psych.” A rotating menu of options changes every couple of months. Check the web site for current options.
